The Real Deal: LA-based Drybar inks first deal on South Beach

[/caption] Southern California-based Drybar is opening its first Miami area location on South Beach. Drybar has leased 1,600 square feet at 1600 Collins Avenue #2, at the ground floor of the new Hyatt Centric South Beach Miami, next to Berkley Beach Café Hotel and across the street from Aroma Espresso Bar. The shop is set to open in early 2017, according to a release. Alli Webb, Drybar’s founder, grew up in South Florida, owned a clothing store on Collins Avenue in the 199os, and her grandmother lived less than block from the Miami Beach location 30 years ago, according to the release. Drybar is the latest hair blowout shop to open in the Miami area, along with Blo Blow Dry Bar, Bdry Blow Dry Bar and Dry De Luxe, among others. The new store will feature custom Italian chairs, tufted fabric walls, marble bars with built-in phone docking stations, and flat screens TVs. Drybar has more than 65 locations throughout the United States and Canada, according to its website, including its only other store in Florida, in Jacksonville. The company also offers a line of products that is sold at its shops, as well as at Sephora, Nordstrom, Ulta and Bloomingdale’s. Hyatt Centric South Beach Miami, developed by Miami-based Robert Finvarb Companies and its partner David Martins, opened in the summer of 2015. The 105-room hotel represented the first Hyatt Centric-branded hotel in Miami Beach, and the second Hyatt Centric property worldwide, after Chicago. Another 15 rebranded hotels are on tap for New York, Paris and other destinations, Robert Finvarb, CEO of Robert Finvarb Companies, previously told The Real Deal. Kobi Karp designed the 10-story glass tower in Miami Beach, which sits above an historic building façade.
