Project Summary
The Queen Effat Cultural Exhibition Center transforms a horizontal desert site into a striking cultural landmark for exhibition and public gathering. The composition is arranged as a cantilevered volume, with a solid white base raised on slender supports to shelter a broad stepped plaza and calligraphy-inscribed threshold below. Wrapping the upper level, a dense screen of patterned Arabic script filters daylight into the galleries and glows softly at dusk, giving the façade a layered, textural identity rooted in calligraphic tradition. Broad cantilevered roof planes extend beyond the building's edges, casting deep shade across the entry sequence and reinforcing the sense of the structure floating above the ground plane. At its base, a wide stairway and reflective plaza draw visitors up into the building, transforming arrival into a ceremonial approach. Together, these elements establish a cultural destination that unites contemporary form with Arabic script and craft, honoring Queen Effat's legacy within a bold architectural statement.
