Restored by Kobi Karp Architecture & Interior Design, this landmark from 1940 designed by Roy F. France blends Art Deco heritage with modern hospitality performance. The renovation preserved signature elements such as the stucco‑finish block structure, terrazzo lobby floors, and streamlined vertical fins, while upgrading building systems, guest floors, and public spaces to 21st‑century standards.

Architecturally, the building maintains its original composition of horizontal “eyebrow” overhangs and vertical accent bands, now complemented by updated impact‑rated glazing and climate‑resilient finishes. The design focused on maintaining the spirit of the original structure while adapting circulation, amenities, and unit layouts for current use resulting in a hotel that meets modern guest expectations without sacrificing historic character.
