
Kobi Karp
President and Founder
Kobi Karp is the Founder and Principal of Kobi Karp Architecture and Interior Design, Inc.(KKAID), which he established in 1996. As Principal-in-Charge of Design, he has led the firm for nearly three decades, shaping it into a globally recognized studio known for its innovative and human-centered approach. KKAID is a full-service architecture and interior design firm, specializing in everything from high-rise luxury residential and hospitality developments to boutique commercial and low-rise residential projects.
Karp holds degrees in Architecture and Environmental Design from the University of Minnesota’s Institute of Technology. Early in his career, he focused on large-scale hospitality and all-inclusive resort developments across the U.S. and the Caribbean. His work played a key role in the revitalization of Miami Beach’s iconic Art Deco District, using thoughtful restoration techniques that helped preserve and reimagine the area’s historic charm. Today, Karp continues to lead groundbreaking projects across the globe.
Most recently, he is overseeing the design of Selene Oceanfront Residences in Fort Lauderdale—one of South Florida’s newest luxury residential developments, blending contemporary elegance with Karp’s signature attention to detail and contextual sensitivity.

Mathieu Picard
Executive Senior Project Designer
Mr. Picard joined KKAID in June 2004 and currently holds the positions of Executive Senior Project Designer. With over two decades of experience, he has contributed to a wide range of high-profile hotel, resort, residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments.
His past work includes the Maya Terra Island project in Belize, a master-planned eco-community designed to preserve natural resources while incorporating sustainable, low-impact architecture. The development features contemporary residences, boutique hotels, and beachfront amenities – all built using both passive and active strategies to reduce energy consumption and environmental footprint.
Mr. Picard also led the design team for One Phoenix, a three-tower, 35-story luxury residential project in Arizona that integrates commercial and retail space to enhance its urban context. The project was guided by LEED principles to ensure environmental responsibilities and long-term sustainability.
Currently, Mr. Picard is spearheading design work for The Ritz-Carlton Residences South Beach, including the Sagamore and Raleigh properties -iconic landmarks being reimagined into a cohesive, luxury oceanfront destination.
He hold both a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Architecture from Northeastern University.



Carlos Aguayo
Director of Construction Operations
Mr. Aguayo joined Kobi Karp Architecture and Interior Design (KKAID) in February 2005 and currently serves as the Director of Construction Documents and Administration. With over 30 years of experience in the architecture and construction industry, he is known for bringing design concepts to life through meticulous technical execution and project coordination. He plays a key role in translating architectural vision into buildable solutions – guiding projects through permitting, securing approvals from regulatory agencies, and overseeing construction with a focus on budget, timeline, and quality.
Mr. Aguayo has played a key role in two major developments in Wynwood, Miami’s most dynamic and fastest-growing creative district. He led construction documentation and administration for Gateway at Wynwood, a 13-story, 220,000-sqaure-foot Class A office and retail building that redefined commercial architecture in the area. He also managed technical coordination for Wynwood 25, a 289-unit residential project that includes ground-floor retail and art-centric design features, helping set the tone for the neighborhood’s urban evolution.
Currently, Mr. Aguayo is overseeing Edge house, which broke ground in March 2025, and Vida Edgewater, a luxury residential development located in one of Miami’s most desirable bayside neighborhoods.
He holds dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Architectural Technology and Construction Management from Florida International University.
