Intracoastal Island
Miami Beach, Florida
Category: Single Family Residential
Project Summary
A single-family residence on a deepwater Intracoastal lot, reimagined as a composition of stacked white volumes offset by dark bronze accents and full-height glazing. A vertical louvered brise-soleil anchors the entry facade, filtering light while giving the elevation its sculptural signature, and the design steps back progressively toward the water, with cantilevered balconies and a rooftop terrace framing views up and down the canal.
At the rear, the architecture opens fully to the waterfront with expansive glass walls, a linear pool and spa sequence, and a covered outdoor living pavilion that extends the home's footprint to the dock. Every massing decision — the shifting volumes, deep overhangs, and layered facade — was driven by orientation to the water and by breaking down the scale of a large home into a composition that reads as light, precise, and contemporary.
