Developer Lightstone Group has submitted plans to build a Moxy hotel on Washington Avenue, featuring micro-sized hotel rooms.
The project will include the partial demolition and renovation of a historic retail building at 915 Washington Avenue, along with the addition of a 7-story hotel with 204 rooms.
At the north end of the block, construction is already underway on what will become a CVS store, according to Bryan Cook, a regional director of real estate for the chain.
Kobi Karp is the architect of the hotel, with interiors by Rockwell Group. Miami Beach’s Historic Preservation Board will review the plans this month.
