This project development fulfilled the need for a completely self-contained resort setting. The vision provided and integrated a themed city-hotel response to the market demand. High quality specifications, an environmental approached design, and a modern approach to the vernacular based on the heritage of the desert are the basis for the project’s provision of high-end accommodations, wide range of families facilities, health & leisure facilities, and conference centers in a culturally inspired atmosphere. The design and architecture were key in embracing the contextual features of the landscape and implementing them successfully in what resulted in a neutral low-density, low-rise structure, in highlighting the rich and indigenous landscape and desert environment. The project site & hill configuration truly lent themselves in the creation of this resort. These elements, along with the positioning of the building’s footprint in consideration of sustainable analyses of wind and sun orientation, allowed for the successful marriage of desert culture, green design and a project truly representative of its environment.
