BAY DRIVE RESIDENCE
Project Summary
The Bay Drive Residence is situated in conversation with the light, the water and the horizon. In the architecture there is equilibrium between strength expressed through silence and subtle expressiveness. By applying clean geometries and careful transparency, soul from every passing cloud finds its way into this world. Deep overhangs and long, sinuous horizontals form protected outdoor rooms that moderate sun and
shade; huge floor-to-ceiling glazed walls open interior spaces to garden, sky and water, making the landscape as integral part of spatial experience.
Every transition within the house is meant to be liquid, evaluating light change, different textures and changing views at every moment. The materials palette is deliberately restrained, with smooth stone surfaces warm wood accents combined: all work together to provide both materiality and visual warmth. Covered walkways, terraces and outdoor living zones confused the line between manmade forms and nature. Ultimately, this is a house to soothe: it serves as a frame for moments of stillness or pause, and lets life proceed tranquil in the setting lent it by coastlines.
