Project Summary
The Bal Bay Residence is masterfully oriented towards the bay, skillfully utilizing light, expansive views, and water elements to inform the daily experience of its inhabitants. Its sweeping horizontal volumes and distinctly articulated cantilevered rooflines create deep, shaded terraces that temper the intensity of sunlight and humidity. Each room is framed by generous glass walls and expansive sliding openings, establishing and uninterrupted visual connection to the lush gardens and the tranquil poolside.
The design artfully emphasizes both profound vistas and selective panoramas across the site, fostering a spatial dynamic that oscillates between openness and a sense of protection.
The choice of materials is intentionally unadorned yet tactile, merging the warmth of wood soffits and ceilings with the coolness of stone and concrete. Water features gracefully cascade into the pool, providing a soothing auditory backdrop throughout the day. Thoughtfully designed inlays offer both privacy and shade, harmonizing with the tropical climate to establish a seamless indoor-outdoor rhythm. Consequently, the residence presents itself as a cohesive entity, contemporary, yet serene, valuing the interplay of shade and breeze while simultaneously embracing transparency. It facilitates a daily dialogue with the captivating vistas of Oranova Bay, enriching the living experience.
