Shulman+ Associates: The Lincoln Theatre/H&M receives 2013 AIA Florida Award
Project Summary
The collaboration of Robert Collins and Thomas White Lamb, a leader of American theater architecture, produced this remarkable urban hybrid of street-level retail space, upper-level offices, and full-service cinema theater. The building is also notable for the decorative flourish of its bas-relief panels, and for the deeply cantilevered marquee that projects into Lincoln Road. The theater itself is concealed behind a block of commercial space but, through the monumental composition of the vertical and horizontal marquees, loses none of its identity on the street.
