This is a beautiful rendering of what the Paso Del Norte Hotel will look like once the restoration of the landmark hotel is completed. I'm all for the ongoing downtown revitalization process but there is one section of downtown across the street from the Paso Del Norte that is a total eyesore. And that area is the Union Plaza, bounded by West Overland, Santa Fe Street,Paisano Street, and Leon. That is where the city wants to build the new downtown arena and the new arena the Paso del Norte hotel and the convention center all complement each other. There is sense in trying to save that eyesore that is there now, my point is it don't belong there next to a renovated historic hotel.
The city has got to fight back in order to continue with positive progress in downtown El Paso even if it has to use eminent domain.
